Welcome news from HMRC with their amendment to the Super Deduction rules for landlords. Some landlords could benefit on ‘background plant and machinery’ within leased buildings, subject to a few exclusions (e.g. second hand assets or connected parties). Care is needed as it applies to incorporated businesses i.e. companies, with partnerships and individuals still excluded.
